TOP 100 RETURNING WRESTLERS IN DISTRICT 10
Finalized by Dan Albaugh on 11/29/09

This list is not a ranking of the 100 best wrestlers in District 10. Rather, this list ranks
the top 100 returning District 10 wrestlers who have the best opportunity to go far in
the post-season tournaments of the 2008-2009 season. Obviously, a lot of “hairsplitting”
goes into preparing a purely subjective list of this nature. By hair-splitting, I
mean that the chances of the #16 wrestler are probably as good as the #8 wrestler and
there’s not a whole lot of difference between #30 and #60 and #70 and #100. Keep in
mind that District 10 has sent 119 wrestlers to States in the past three years – 44 in
2009, 42 in 2008 and 33 in 2007. So, any wrestler listed in the top 100 has a good
chance to go to Hershey.

This is my 10th year of doing the Top 100 Returning Wrestlers list. As always, don’t
take this list too seriously as it was put together for fun and to generate some earlyseason
wrestling conversation. It was not compiled to create complaints or great
controversy.

For any wrestler who doesn’t see his or her name, but feels it should be included, then
please use this list an incentive to do well. I’ll truly be rooting for you to prove me
wrong!

NOTE: From my Top 100 list of last year, I missed no State placewinners and only four
State qualifiers (Tyler Roberts of Jamestown , David Church of Fort LeBoeuf, Tyler
Parsons of Erie Prep and Steve Ceremuga of Commodore Perry). Tim Wheeling of
General McLane, Dylan D’Urso of Reynolds, Steve Spearman of McDowell and Wes
Phipps of Grove City were not included in my 2008-09 Top 100 Returners list because
they were freshmen and not returners. To see my 2008-09 Top 100 picks, click here
